Kenneth is a veteran among veterans in S.T.A.R.S., so much so that even captain Enrico considered his investigative abilities second to none. In Resident Evil however he's mostly remembered as the victim of the very first zombie.
He does leave behind a tape of his untimely death however, if you're interested in the grisly details make sure you find somewhere to play it back!

Going from what we're shown in the opening movie it looks like he might have had a hard enough time just making it to the mansion in the first place...poor Kenneth.
